როგორც მოგეხსენებათ, ატომური ენერგიის საერთაშორისო სააგენტოს დახმარებითა და საქართველოს ოკუპირებული ტერიტორიებიდან დევნილთა, შრომის, ჯანმრთელობისა და სოციალური დაცვის სამინისტროს მხარდაჭერით, GEO6010 პროექტის ფარგლებში ეროვნულ სკრინინგ ცენტრს გადმოეცა ციფრული მამოგრაფი (“Mammomat Inspiration”), რასაც, ამავე პროექტის ფარგლებში, მოჰყვა სლოვენიის ძუძუს კიბოს სკრინინგის პროგრამის ხელმძღვანელების საქართველოში ვიზიტი. სლოვენიელმა ექსპერტებმა  ტრენინგი ჩაუტარეს ეროვნული სკრინინგ ცენტრის სამედიცინო პერსონალს (რადიოლოგებს, რადიოგრაფერებს, მენეჯერებს) და ძუძუს კიბოს სკრინინგის პროგრამის მომავალი განვითარებისათვის მოამზადეს გარკვეული რეკომენდაციები, როგორც ეროვნული სკრინინგ ცენტრისა და  საქართველოს ჯანდაცვის პოლიტიკის განმსაზღვრელების, ასევე, ატომური ენერგიის საერთაშორისო სააგენტოსათვის.

აღნიშნული რეკომენდაციებისა და ჩვენი მიმართვის საფუძველზე, ატომური ენერგიის საერთაშორისო სააგენტო მზად არის GEO6010 პროექტის ფარგლებში დარჩენილი თანხა მომართოს ეროვნული სკრინინგ ცენტრისკენ. იმისათვის, რომ დაიწყოს პროექტის იმპლემენტაციის პროცესი, გთხოვთ თქვენს დასტურსა და კოორდინაციას.

 

გიგზავნით ატომური ენერგიის საერთაშორისო სააგენტოდან მიღებულ წერილს და სლოვენიელი ექსპერტების მიერ მომზადებული ანგარიშიდან რეკომენდაციების ნაწილს.

After a careful review of the project status and the technical needs identified for the screening centre, I would like to inform you that the IAEA considers your request as technically sound.

 

Project GEO6010 project, “Creating a Radiation Medicine Education and Training Strategy” is at its final stage of implementation, and therefore any additional requests for support under this project should be directed to centres where the IAEA has already confirmed that all pre-requisitions are in place for receiving the assistance, such as adequate facilities and staff readily available for training.

 

The Technical Division has confirmed that the National Screening Centre would strongly benefit from additional support in the form of staff training and additional equipment. In line with the recommending of the Slovenian experts and the financial possibilities of the project, there is a possibility of supporting the following activities that will help in the improvement and development of the Cancer Screening Program in Georgia:

 

HUMAN RESOURCES

1. Group Scientific Visit of 2 weeks for 1-2 radiologists, 1-2 radiographers and 1-2 medical physicists to the Multidisciplinary Training Course for Breast Screening in Ljubljana (with Dr Maksimilian Kadivec)
2. Following the SV: expert mission for the drafting of the QC protocols
3. Scientific visits of experienced personnel to Ljubljana to assist in identifying the prerequisites and needs of a Breast Screening Program. Following the SV an expert mission could be provided to support the NBSP.
4. Fellowships of core local personnel.
5. 2-year Master Programme: Academic and Clinical for a medical physicist in mammographic imaging (under the framework of an Interregional TC Project)

EQUIPMENT

6. The procurement of a PACS could be supported:  The estimated cost is of 150-200K

Please answer the following questions:

What is the number of patients per year?

How many digital systems you have and want to have in your National Screening Programme?

Technology: How many DR and CR system?

Regarding your requests for obtaining a new Digital Mammographic Unit with tomosynthesis, prone table with 3D biopsy, vacuum system for VAB, unfortunately the IAEA cannot financially support this request as the system has an estimated cost of between 500-700 000 euros and this amount surpluses the funds available under the project.

 

Please be so kind to review the above information and contact Ms Natia Nogaideli for coordination and confirmation to the IAEA that we can initiate the implementation of the proposed activities. During my visit to Tbilisi I informed the Ministry of Health that the project was about to initiate the process of closure and therefore we could only attend request that could be immediately implemented such as the support being requested through your letter.
