Subject: WHO 2019 survey on access to direct acting antivirals (DAAs)
Dear colleagues,
The Department of HIV and Global Hepatitis Programme and the Department of Essential Medicines and Health Products in collaboration with the Regional Office HIV/Hepatitis Advisers are updating the Global Report on Access to Hepatitis C treatment : focus on overcoming barriers in low- and middle- income countries.
As part of this exercise, we would like to assess and update the current use and availability of DAAs in each country and learn from the country experience in the procurement and supply management of hepatitis C medicines, including solutions for addressing any challenges.
The 2018 report is available at the link : https://www.who.int/hepatitis/publications/hep-c-access-report-2018/en/
In order to complete the 2019 survey in your country, we would be grateful if you could kindly contact and transmit the enclosed questionnaire to the national hepatitis programme if any, or the appropriate person who is most knowledgeable about national hepatitis C treatment activities in the country. If you have any queries concerning this questionnaire, please contact Ms Françoise Renaud (renaudf@who.int) who is the technical officer responsible for this project in the HQ/HIV Department, Geneva.
We would be grateful if your office could assist us in ensuring that the questionnaire is appropriately completed and sent back to (renaudf@who.int) by Friday 26 July 2019.
We thank you very much for your collaboration.
