Dear Dr. Deutsch,

 

Thank you very much for your email and invitation to meet OFII’s doctors and nurses on September 13^th, 2019 in Paris, in order to discuss the healthcare situation of Georgia.

 

It would be my great honour and pleasure to accept your kind invitation, but unfortunately, the subject to be discussed at the above mentioned meeting is beyond the competencies of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC) as the issue raised is under the scope of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia (MIDPLH&SA). Therefore, as a Director General of NCDC, unfortunately, I am not a right person to participate in the abovementioned meeting and take part in the discussions on the subject matter. Rather, the subject was raised by Dr. Charpak based on our personal relationship and friendship and not as an official to be addressed on this particular issue.

 

We fully understand that due to some formalities, it is not possible to arrange high level visit of the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia this time, therefore, to proceed with the subject, let me kindly advise to discuss with the MIDPLH&SA the possibility of arranging the visit of relevant official from the Ministry, or arrange the conference call, where all the issues of Georgia’s healthcare situation, interesting OFII could be covered.

 

For this purposes I kindly recommend to send the letter to Dr. Zaza Bokhua, First Deputy Minister of Internally Displaced Persons, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia (email: zbokhua@moh.gov.ge) and/or Dr. Tamar Gabunia, Deputy Minister (email: tgabunia@moh.gov.ge). They both are responsible for this kind of arrangements and will facilitate the process.

We thank you for the last exchange with Yves Charpak.

 

Following your last mail and according to the official process we have got attached with the Home Office and Foreign Affairs Ministry to formalize the invitation to the Georgian Health Minister. Unfortunately this request has not yet been achieved. Owing to the time constraints we regret to cancel Madam Minister intervention this year and hope to welcome her subsequently.

 

Otherwise we would be very pleased to exchange with an high official during this meeting. Also could it be possible for you to participate unless the time delay.

 

You will find attached the invitation from the OFII General manager to participate at the OFII medical meeting. In that case, we will take in charge your flight ticket and hotel booking.
