Depending on the progress, we should also try to agree on the time of next mission in September or around.

Dear Mariana,

It was pleasure to meet you and your colleagues again. Thank you also for your support during the mission.

I am sharing with you some materials (to be shared with DRG working group) related to the recent mission and further activities.

1)      Next steps to be taken after the mission:

a.       SSA will introduce electronic control that catches the surgical claims without NCSP and rejects them until the NCSP code is added by providers.

b.       SSA and Ministry will review the draft coding guideline and revise it according to Georgian needs.

c.       SSA will develop the templates in case management system to facilitate the providers to learn and understand the DRGs related system (preparation of the pilot)

d.       DRG transition plan, pilot roadmap and Terms of Reference of DRG specialist(s) will be discussed from distance via Skype meeting (within two weeks after the mission).

e.       Next mission is planned to late August or September.

2)      The key observations from the analytical work (attached) – something you can go through in DRG WG and bear in mind in further DRG implementation process but also to use more broadly in designing the health financing related decisions.

3)      Draft of “Guideline for ICD‐10 and NCSP coding standards with basic overview about DRG grouping principles for the piloting hospitals” (attached)– as indicated above, this should be reviewed and finalized.

4)      Training materials from February mission about coding guidelines (attached) – Maia was interested in this but I think this slidedeck can be used by the team working on development of coding guideline.

In addition, during the meeting with Minister, he mentioned about a separate case based system which has been implemented for congenital heart diseases. It was agreed that the materials (grouping logic) will be shared with Triin and me. Therefore I kindly ask you if you could check with Deputy Minister (or someone having this material) if she could provide you with this to share with us.

As we could not cover DRG transition plan and ToR of DRG specialist during the mission, we suggest to have a Skype call in the morning of Friday, 7 of June. I know it is far away, but we could aim for this and confirm it later (closer the that date).
