As most of you are aware, the first strategic plan for HCV elimination for 2016-2020 was developed with the help of the CDC and other international partners. The initial plan set forth a goal of a 90% reduction in the prevalence of HCV infection in Georgia by 2020, and while that goal hasn’t yet been reached, the program has made significant progress. There have been dramatic improvements in many areas, including blood safety, harm reduction, infection prevention and control and others.

Currently, Georgia is working with U.S. CDC and other partners to develop a new comprehensive hepatitis elimination plan that includes specific goals and activities through 2025.

We would appreciate your review and feedback by March 30, 2021. Also, please feel free to share this document with your colleagues.

Thank you very much for your valuable collaboration, and we look forward to seeing you at the 6th Hepatitis C Technical Advisory Group Meeting, to be held on Monday, March 15, and Tuesday, March 16, 2021.

Kind regards,
Irina
