Dear All,
With the great news of vaccine arrival over the weekend, we are excited to invite you for the fourth and last session of the Sprint next week.
We have agreed with Dr. Khonelidze that the last Sprint session will be held on
Tuesday, March 23rd, at 14:00. We hope all Sprint participants can join (we will share the Zoom link later).
In this fourth session we will be presenting more developed creative routes based on what you chose in the previous session, get your feedback and discuss which of them are the favorite campaign option(s), discuss specific executions of the campaign for the
disinformation/vulnerable audiences, we'll share digital research findings and discuss how to reach different audiences.
After the fourth Sprint session, we will incorporate your feedback, test the selected creative routes with the focus groups and come back to the Ministry and NCDC with final refined products that can then become the Government's campaign.
On top of that, I would like to provide information what else we are doing/can do in support of the vaccination campaign and follow-up on couple issues we've discussed with the MoH and NCDC representatives earlier:
- Responding to disinformation (building on Israel's experience): As indicated by Ms. Egutia earlier, the MoH is interested to adopt the Israeli example and pilot a collaboration with factchecking organizations (like GRASS) to fight with ongoing/emerging
disinformation narratives around COVID-19 vaccines. Since vaccination started, such cooperation as a rapid response mechanism might be very important and valuable as the key in fighting to disinformation is a timely response. GRASS and another partner MDF
(who have cooperated with NCDC) are both ready to work with the Ministry and NDCD on this. We would be happy to organize a meeting and facilitate this process at your earlier convenience.
- Engaging community/grassroots organizations in the campaign: As mentioned earlier we will be working with some CSOs/community organizations to support the vaccination campaign with specific audiences. USAID's another partner EWMI-ACCESS is supporting
this effort and might be able to provide small financial support to some organizations in the regions to amplify messages in support of vaccines. Some of these organizations work with medical personnel, social workers, teachers, ethnic minority populations,
women, etc. Once we all agree on the details of the campaign at the next session, we will work with these organizations how they can support.
- Pre-bunking video about vaccines: As part of our other Sprint, we are working with a factchecking organization MDF and helping them implement pre-bunking videos on various important topics - one of them COVID-19 vaccines. In this video, we want to
record a doctor and a priest refuting disinformation about COVID-19 vaccines and encouraging citizens to get vaccinated. We have reached out to Dr. Marina Endeladze and she has kindly agreed to participate in the video. This video will be posted through MDF's
social media channels, but we will be happy to share the content with MoH and NCDC as well. I wanted keep you informed about these initiatives.
We are very much looking forward to working with you on the final Sprint session. In the meantime, please also let us know if we can set up a meeting with factchecking organizations to launch that rapid-response collaboration mechanism against vaccine
related disinformation.
Kind regards,
Misha
