Heroes Advocate for Lung Health
Yesterday, LUNG FORCE Heroes — those personally affected by lung cancer from across the country—called to speak to their members of Congress about the urgent need to address lung cancer, including advocating for $46.1 billion in research funding for National Institutes of Health. New Special Enrollment Period for Quality and Affordable Healthcare
Special Enrollment Period The Biden Administration announced a Special Enrollment Period for individuals and families to enroll in quality and affordable health insurance through healthcare.gov from February 15, 2021 through May 15, 2021. This is an opportunity for the millions of Americans, including those who have lost employed-sponsored coverage because of COVID-19, to enroll in health insurance that will cover preventive services, emergency care and vaccines, including the COVID-19 vaccine. The Lung Association has resources on open enrollment in both English and Spanish available at Lung.org/openenrollment.
Lung Association Launches 11 New Lung Cancer Biomarker Landing Pages
As part of our Biomarker Briefings project, we have added 11 biomarker-specific landing pages as well as additional general biomarker testing content. Biomarker testing is a key component of precision medicine. The new content helps explain biomarker testing as well as many important lung cancer biomarkers that may impact treatment.
