მოგესალმებით,

გიგზავნით ბრიტანეთის საელჩოდან მიღებულ მეილს, რომელიც ეხება ბრიტანეთის საელჩოს თანამშრომლების ვაქცინაციის საკითხს. ბრიტანეთის მთავრობის გადაწყვეტილებით დაგეგმილია საელჩოს პერსონალისა და მათი ოჯახის წევრების ვაქცინაცია.

პირველ ეტაპზე, ასტრაზენეკას 80 დოზა ვაქცინის (მთლიანობაში 160 დოზა) გამოგზავნა მოხდება საელჩოში.

საელჩოს გვთხოვს ინფორმაციას შემდეგ საკითხებზე:

რა მექანიზმით უნდა მოხდეს ვაქცინის იმპორტი/რა პროცედურების გავლაა საჭირო  და რომელი სამედიცინო დაწესებულება უზრუნველყოფს საელჩოს პერსონალის ვაქცინაციას.

კომერციული ხელშეკრულების საფუძველზე, საელჩოს ემსახურება ამერიკული სამედიცინო ცენტრი (AMC) და მათთან ქონდათ კონსულტაციები ვაქცინების შენახვისა და ჩატარების შესაძლებლობის საკითხზე, თუმცა იქიდან გამომდინარე, რომ აღნიშნული კლინიკა არაა ვაქცინაციის პროგრამაში ჩართული, საელჩო  თანახმაა, მიმართოს ნებისმიერ სამედიცინო დაწესებულებას ამ მიზნებისთვის, რომელსაც აქვს ნებართვა,  უზრუნველყოს Covid-19 ვაქცინაცია, არსებული რეგულაციების დაცვით.  

გთხოვთ, ხვალისთვის მოგვაწოდოთ თქვენი მოსაზრებები დასმულ საკითხებთან დაკავშირებით საელჩოს შემდგომი ინფორმირების მიზნით.

Dear Maia,

 

Thank you very much for your telephone call earlier. I am very grateful for the Deputy Minister having introduced you to me.

 

As I explained on the telephone, the UK’s foreign ministry - the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FDCO) - intends to make Covid-19 vaccines available to its staff serving overseas, as part of the UK’s national vaccination programme. A small proportion of staff may return to the UK for vaccination. But the vast majority of staff will be vaccinated through delivery of vaccine doses to overseas missions, where a local medical provider contacted by the mission will administer the vaccine. This is the approach that will be used for our embassy in Georgia.

 

It will be the Oxford University/AstraZeneca vaccine used by the FCDO for this purpose. It will be dispatched from the UK, where is has been approved by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), one of the internationally-recognised stringent regulatory authorities. The pharmaceutical specifications of the vaccine are at the bottom of this email. In the UK the supply of vaccines to medical providers is controlled by Public Health England (PHE), part of our ministry of health. It is from PHE directly that vaccine supplies are being sent to British embassies overseas.

 

As we discussed, I would be very grateful for your advice on the appropriate approval mechanisms

- for the Embassy to import the vaccine for its own use and  

- for a clinic in Georgia to store the vaccines on the Embassy’s behalf, and administer the vaccines to individual staff members  

 

From the UK side, there are several possible options for delivering the vaccines to Georgia, including a diplomat carrying them by hand, provided that did not cause any difficulty for the later administration of the vaccines. We will of course follow your advice on this.

 

The supply we will receive will be a batch of 80 doses. To vaccinate all our staff (and the adult family members of our diplomatic staff) we will need two batches. At this stage I do not know whether we will receive two batches in one delivery, or a first batch initially and a second batch later.

 

I said on the telephone that we had spoken to the American Medical Centre (AMC) in Tbilisi about the possibility of them storing and administering the vaccines for us, under a commercial contract with the Embassy. Our Embassy uses AMC for general medical procedures for our diplomatic staff, including standard vaccinations for children, so it is natural for us to consider this clinic. However we would be able to use any clinic that is authorised to store and administer Covid-19 vaccines under Georgian regulations, and willing to follow some guidelines on administration issued by Public Health England (PHE). I would be pleased to share these guidelines with you if it would help identify a possible doctor/clinic. AMC have been very clear that they can only assist us with prior approval for the vaccines from the Ministry of Health.

2. QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION

One dose (0.5 ml) contains:

COVID-19 Vaccine (ChAdOx1-S* recombinant) 5 × 1010 viral particles (vp)

*Recombinant, replication-deficient chimpanzee adenovirus vector encoding the SARS-CoV-2 Spike (S) glycoprotein. Produced in genetically modified human embryonic kidney (HEK) 293 cells.

 

This product contains genetically modified organisms (GMOs). It does not contain preservatives.

3. PHARMACEUTICAL FORM

Solution for injection.

The solution is colourless to slightly brown, clear to slightly opaque and particle free with a pH of 6.6.
