Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to invite you to participate in a virtual meeting on Friday 19 March (between 11:30 to 13:00 CEST) to discuss Post-COVID conditions (Long COVID).
This meeting is being convened to facilitate an exchange of views amongst Member States on the emerging evidence concerning Post-COVID conditions. Many people struggle to recover from the acute infection even when they have not needed hospitalization, suffering often disabling symptoms that last weeks or months and, in some cases, presenting with disabilities that are likely to be even longer lasting.
The participation of experts on primary health care and clinical specialists is indeed also highly valued.
As with previous meetings in this format, we will welcome several Member States to share their experiences and address their concerns.
This meeting will be the first meeting to be convened on post COVID conditions in the WHO European Region and will set the stage for further action.
I understand the current constraints on your time and pressure on your office and I would like to stress out how grateful I am for your continuous support and your collaboration and hope you can be available for this important meeting.
Kindly note that the virtual meeting will be conducted in both English and Russian languages.
A detailed programme with Scope and Purpose along with connection details will be shared early next week.
I remain grateful for your continued support throughout this pandemic.
Yours very truly,
Dr Hans Henri P. Kluge
Regional Director
