Hope my message finds you safe.

In the first place, I would like to congratulate you on the recent adoption by the Parliament of the package of amendments to the labour legislation. It is an important step in further promotion of labour rights in Georgia.

I am addressing you in connection to some aspects of ILO operations, namely the implementation of the Danida-funded project “Inclusive labour markets for job creation in Georgia”. The Project Advisory Committee meeting conducted on 29 September 2020 seems to reveal certain issues, at least from the view point of social partners which require a discussion on how to optimise our joint work under the umbrella of the project.

This was further confirmed by a letter submitted last week to the ILO by the GTUC President Irakli Petriashvili.

Since this is not the first time we get signals on possible ways to improve the implementation of the project I would like to invite you, Mr Petriashvili and Mr Meladze to a discussion on what and how we could do better together.

I understand it is a busy period as we are less than three weeks from the day of the elections and still I hope you could find time for such a discussion in your busy schedule. Kindly advise on a couple of available time slots and we will check availability of social partners.
