Dear Deputy Minister Barkalaia,

Thank you for your confirmation for the 12th of October. Can we propose 15:00hrs for this partnership update meeting?

In addition, as part of the project administration and management, UN Women is required to hold a project stakeholders meeting. The is an advisory body aimed at guiding the project direction through a collective review of project progress, achievements and challenges. Since the project has now been operational for almost 2 years and will come to an end in 9 months, this is a good time to take stock of progress made and to identify priority actions to meet the targets of this phase of the project. We would also be able to identify general priority areas for the next phase of the project as a result of the discussions.

The meeting will be chaired by Lela Akiashvili and she has indicated her availability for October 13th at 11:00. Please find attached the Terms of Reference for the meeting and kindly confirm your availability for the meeting. The meeting will be held online and should last no more than 2 hours.

Thanks,

Mehjabeen

Dear Mehjabeen,

Thank you very much for support and cooperation that has always been there from UN Women.  With new responsibilities we’ve received with Labor code and Labour Inspection  Law, we will appreciate your support in forming Labour Inspection as an effective mechanism to monitor implementation of labour rights.  I am available for the meeting on October 12 or any other day that week. For the sake of safety, let’s plan an online meeting.  Lika will be in touch with you for the meeting details.

Kind regards,

Tamuna

Dear Deputy Minister Barkalaia,

Firstly we would like to extend our congratulations to you and your team for the yesterday’s approval of the revised Labour Code and we would like to express our availability to discuss any support that may be required in the implementation of the new law.

In the past few months, UN Women has made progress in a number of areas with regards to our project “Women’s Economic Empowerment in the South Caucasus” funded by the Swiss and Austrian Governments. We are therefore requesting a meeting with you at your earliest convenience to discuss the progress and the specific next steps.

As you are aware, one of the activities within our project is the Gender Impact Assessment (GIA) of a policy or programme of the Ministry. Together with you, we would like to agree on the area of focus (topic) of the GIA. Secondly, we have completed the Participatory Gender Audit (PGA) and had submitted the draft report to your Ministry for feedback. We would like to finalize the report and agree on the actions that should be implemented.

Please note that the project comes to an end in the summer of 2021 and we would like to agree on the actions to be implemented by then.

Warm regards,

Mehjabeen
