Kindly note, however, that this approval has been made on the understanding that the Government of Georgia does not currently comply with
required number of criteria but that it is committed to and actively working towards this goal. In accordance with the criteria for engagement, the Government of Georgia will be given a four-year period to align its laws, policies and practices with the required
criteria. The EPIC Secretariat will be in touch periodically to ascertain progress, and remains available to provide technical assistance, as appropriate.
In the meantime, in order to complete the process and actively promote your membership on the EPIC website, we should be grateful if you
would kindly complete the two attached forms and return them to us at your earliest convenience.

Dear Ms. Barkalaia,
On behalf of the EPIC Secretariat, and as a follow-up to my earlier mail, I am reverting to you regarding the table which you have so kindly prepared in respect of
Georgia's application to join EPIC.
We have noted that your application only meets four criteria, and that you have indicated your Government's commitment to three additional
criteria as being considered, and in respect of one other criteria as
being considered - yet under discussion.
As you will note from the attached EPIC criteria for engagement, Governments that may not yet comply with at least six criteria but are
committed to and actively working towards this goal may still be considered for engagement in EPIC, and that these governments will be given a four-yer period to align their laws, policies and practices with the required criteria. In light of
the foregoing, we should be grateful if you would kindly provide some further information/supporting materials about these additional criteria for further consideration by the Secretariat. This will help us determine the level of commitment and work which
might be ongoing in this regard.

Dear EPIC committee members,
On behalf of the Ministry of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, it is my pleasure to submit the Georgia’s
application to join the Equal Pay International Coalition (EPIC).
Please, kindly note that out of compliance criteria, Georgia already meets four. Namely:
- Georgia has ratified ILO Equal Remuneration Convention, 1951 (No. 100);
- Georgia has ratified the UN Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination against Women, 1976;
- Georgian National Statistics office collects sex-disaggregated data on monthly wages since 2001 however, hourly wage
data has been collected since 2017 through the improved Labour Force Survey;
- Georgia offers in-kind support as contributions to key EPIC outputs.
In addition to the above, in the upcoming three years, the Government of Georgia will continuously work on complying with other EPIC criteria, including:
- adherence to the recommendation of the 2013 OECD Council on Gender Equality in Education, Employment and Entrepreneurship
and the 2015 recommendation of the OECD Council on Gender Equality in Public Life;
- encouragement of policies or practices for pay transparency;
- enhancing further measures to ensure that equal pay laws and policies are in place and working towards adopting legislation
in line with ILO Convention No. 100.
It would be our pleasure to explore hosting the signing ceremony in September, 2020 with Dr. Durrer, of course considering the COVID-19 international
travel recommendations of both the Government of Switzerland and the Government of Georgia.
