Dear Garret,
Thank you for the promising news. We hope that other companies can be approached as well.
As for the call with Armaton, I think it would be better for us once again discuss how to proceed with the pilot internally and then organize a call with the company.
I will discuss with the team and get back to you shortly afterwards.
Best regards,
Nino

Hi Nino,
Thank you for the update. I have heard from my colleagues in our state export assistance centers that there may be another 3D print building company that we can inquire with about their technology. They are also a very new company so it may not work out in terms of a timeline, but I will contact our office in California to see if the company could be a good fit and if they would be interested in discussing the pilot project.
In the meantime, please let us know if you think a follow-up call with Armatron Systems would be useful for your team.
Best,
Garret

Dear Garett,
I hope you are doing well. Many thanks for your response.
First, we agree to maintain partnership with Armatron, and let’s put all efforts to implement the pilot project.
As for the other companies, we have checked them and unfortunately we do not have any information, other than ICON.
In terms of the deadline, we don’t have any tentative timeline, since the Ministry is interested to start implementation of the project as soon as a reasonable offer will be made. So we think, starting with the Pilot, will help us in decision making. After we can say whether having such Program would be beneficial to the Country itself.
Finally, the means of the procurement depends on the source of financing and the nature of the project (donors, state budget, exclusivity, etc).
Kind regards,
Nino

Hi Nino,
I beg your pardon for my delayed reply. I hope you are well too.
I did have a chance last week to confer with my colleagues who were also on the call with the representatives from Armatron and we feel that it could be worthwhile to maintain a conversation with Armatron to continue discussing the pilot project. As you know this technology is quite new and from our outreach with potential clients we have not been able to find other 3D printing companies in the United States that are ready for international sales.
Tornike and I received an email from the company a few days ago and they said they are available to answer any follow up questions you may have.
I think it may also be worthwhile to clarify your Ministry's timeline for the pilot project. This could be helpful in how we proceed. Also, if you had any other American companies in mind that meet your requirements that could be helpful as it would then be easier and faster for us to reach out to them directly with a specific trade lead.
For example, I know that your ministry had originally been interested in the company ICON, but they are not yet ready for exporting. Are there any other companies that you had mind? It does not necessarily need to be a 3D company, but could be a company that makes pre-fabricated (modular) homes.
Finally, I may have asked this previously, but is the government planning to put this project out for a public tender?
Any additional information you can provide would be helpful for us to try to find a good match for this project.
Please take care,
Garret

Dear Garret,
Hope this email finds your well.
While we are collecting information at the local level, could you please share if there are any updates relating the Pilot Project, to proceed further?
Thank you and all the best,

Hi Nino,
Looking at these questions it seems that the company covered some of them during yesterday's discussion although I am sure that a construction company or engineering firm interested in partnering with Armatron to use their technology would have similar initial questions.
If your team has additional follow up questions for Armatron we are happy to pass those along to the company so that you can receive further clarification on any topic.
I will also get in touch with our group here at the Commerce Department to discuss additional approaches for this pilot project.

Dear Garett,
First, on behalf of the Ministry, thank you very much for fruitful coordination of the meeting. As Tornike shared with you, we are eager to cooperate with the company on technology transfer and in parallel want to continue exploring other cooperation opportunities with, possibly more internationally experienced companies.
Second, thank you for sharing these questions, however I don’t get them well. These are questions to the company and may be it would good if we have answers on them and share afterwards.
If I am wrong, please advise.
Best regards,
Nino Kvernadze

Hi Nino,
Armatron also shared this with us last night. These are typical questions about the 3D printing industry - please feel free to share with your colleagues for reference.
