Dear Kinan,

Hope all  is good.

Even though we’ve already accepted your proposal related to the online certification course on conciliation of labour disputes, we would like to suggest to  postpone the certification course to 2021 when in person trainings are available. Considering the nature of the training and experience from the previous year, its better if newly appointed mediators have same opportunities as the old ones.

Many thanks for your support!

Best,

Lika

Dear Lika,

Following up on our earlier discussion regarding the certification course on mediation/conciliation, we will enrol all newly assigned roaster mediators to take this online course as the first step towards certification:

https://www.itcilo.org/courses/conciliationmediation-labour-disputes

I kindly ask you to send us a list of all mediators you wish them to enrol in the course and to request their online registration by filling out this form:

https://oarf2.itcilo.org/MIF/A9713525/en

Under the sponsorship section, please ask them to mention that the course will be sponsored by ILO project office in Georgia.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Best regards,

Kinan

Dear Kinan,

Since the pandemic is still here and we are not quite sure when we'll be back to normal way of living/working, I think we can be OK with your proposed training programme.

Thank you once again!

Regards,

Lika

Dear Lika,

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful Georgian summer.

On the certification program, due to the uncertainty evolving around us, ILO training arm has suspended most of the face-to-face training until further notice. Yet,we still have options to deliver the programme over 3 phases, as follow:

-          Phase I: online, over two weeks, delivered through a dedicated e-learning platform. Participants would attend an online course on conciliation/mediation of labour disputes the ITCILO currently offers from 12 October until 1 November 2020 of the duration of three weeks (https://www.itcilo.org/courses/conciliationmediation-labour-disputes). This course covers the theoretical and practical aspects of the key topics related to conciliation/mediation. It includes readings, quizzes, videos, group activities and a series of live sessions organised on Zoom. This course is also open to participants coming from different countries and backgrounds. English -  Georgian interpretation will also be provided on Zoom.

-          Phase II: it involves the assessment for the certification itself. Two options, according to the evolution of the pandemic crisis, can be envisaged:

o   Option A: fully online, two-week course. The coached and assessed sessions of the assessment process will be delivered fully online using Zoom. The modalities are the same as if they were conducted in Georgia.

o   Option B: a 3 – 4 day course (based on the number of participants) is organised in Georgia according to the usual modalities. Please note that ITC is not in the position to guarantee the feasibility of the travel, for the time being, ITC would advise taking into consideration option A.

-          Phase III: online, lasting two weeks and consisting in the draft and submission of final course work (personal development plan).

As of the listed options under phase II, we don't need to decide now as things could change until Nov this year.

I kindly ask you to review those options and let us know if you are OK with it.

Best regards,

Kinan

Dear Lika,

Thank you very much for the updates.

We would like to congratulate the Ministry on the expansion of the roster of the labour dispute mediators. To not burden you with additional documents, we can consider this message as an official request for capacity building activities on the subject.

Please note that we will prepare the training in the period proposed or based on the trainers’ availability, and follow up with you within the next couple of weeks.

Best regards,

Kinan

Importance: High

Dear Kinan,

Dear friends,

Hope you all are in a good health.

First, I would like to you inform you that the Tripartite Social Partnership Commission approved a new roster of mediators (Decree of the Minister will be signed in the coming days). The roster consists of 17 independent mediators.

In order to enhance their skills as mediators and to contribute to stronger labour relations in Georgia, we would love to kindly ask your support in organizing the certification course on conciliation of labour disputes (previous one conducted in April 2019) for new mediators preferably in September-October, if this is possible.

Out of the above said 17, 7 mediators are already certified.

In case an official letter from the Ministry is necessary, please let me know.

Looking forward to your reply.

Many thanks!

Regards,

Lika
