Joint ILO/WEC Webinar Series – Covid-19:
Promoting Decent Work in Platform Work
Just as with all new technologies that have hit the labour market, working through online platforms has grown over the last decades. With the Covid-19 pandemic amplifying the urgency, challenges, and opportunities for ‘platform work’, social partners and government need to work together to ensure it contributes to Decent Work in the post-Covid environment.
On 11 March 2021, the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) and the World Employment Confederation (WEC) will organize a Discussion Forum on Platform work. We invite you to join the conversation and save the date in your calendar.
The discussion will include the following items:
- A presentation of the 2021 ILO World Employment and Social Outlook (WESO) Flagship report including policy implications;
- Interventions from global social partners and government on the conditions for decent working in online platforms; and
- Engaging all participants to share their thoughts and ideas on the topic.
ILO, IOE and WEC very much look forward to welcoming you on the 11th of March for this timely and current discussion on the changing world of work and the labour market recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
