Cordell A. Delapena https://www.af.mil/About-Us/Biographies/Display/Article/1958681/mr-cordell-a-delapena-jr/ Cordell DeLaPena is the Executive Director of the Space Production Program, Space and Rocket Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, California. As CEO, he leads space production programs in the areas of missile attack warning, space superiority, communications, weather, and navigation worth more than $13 billion. He is responsible for multiservice, multinational systems, as well as for the training and equipping of more than 800 military and civilian personnel. Mr. DeLaPena joined the Air Force in 1985 after receiving officer training. From 1985 to 2014, he held various positions in the Air Force and the National Intelligence Agency. In 2014, he retired from active service with the rank of colonel and joined the civil service as an employee of the Higher Executive Service. As Director of the Directorate of Program Management and Integration, he advised the Executive Director of the Air Force Space Program on the management, acquisition, integration, and analysis of weapons systems. Mr. DeLaPena is a graduate of the Defense Systems Management College’s Executive Program Manager Course. He is a designated member of the Defense Acquisition Workforce and is certified Level III in Program Management and Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering. Mr. DeLaPena is a graduate of the College of Defense Systems Management Program Manager course. He is an appointed member of the Defense Procurement Task Force and is certified at Level III in program management and system planning, research, development and engineering.
