Celebrating innovation success stories for active and healthy ageing
More than 300 attendees attended the I2M Adoption Awards. These awards seek to spotlight success stories in the implementation of innovation for active, healthy ageing, recognising both the work
of adopters and their technology suppliers. The initiative attracted 16 applications coming from six European Union countries.
The awards were organised by Innovation to Market (I2M) as part of the work of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA), supported by the WE4AHA coordination
and support action.
Three teams were selected to present their digital solutions at the Adoption Awards Ceremony. It took place on 25th February 2020 in the Digital Health Open Doors Event, organized by Barcelona Health
Hub (BHH) together with European Connected Health Alliance (ECHAlliance).
Recipients of the Public Choice Award
E-Saúde was awarded by the public that had voted online for the past month. This solution by the Galician Health Service (SERGAS) and DXC Technology, is an open platform that enables Galician health
service patients to have easy access to all their health data and set up appointments or e-consultations with their general practitioner.
Recipients of the Jury Award
A panel made up of three experts in the evaluation and implementation of healthcare technology selected NHS Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group and Docobo, as the best adoption case. The innovation
is a telehealth solution for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It monitors symptoms remotely and helps patients to manage their health at home under the supervision of experienced clinicians.
A third finalist also presented its work
This third finalist was the Scottish Digital Health and Care Directorate with Near Me, developed by the company Attend Anywhere. It offers patients a video appointment with their doctor either from
home or a local NHS centre and therefore reduces unnecessary travel.
