If a patient, after being discharged from the hospital, consults a family doctor or a specialist in a medical facility that is not registered under the universal health care program, he or she will reimburse the amount of the consultation.

It is about average OOP of an out-patient visit following discharge from the hospital.

 

 

 

The cost of the out-patient visit after hospital discharge to a GP/FM could cost max 50 GEL in case patient wants to be seen by the doctor that works at the same hospital. This can vary from one medical facility to another (max up to 50 GEL).

In case patient decides to visit the PHC facility that he/she is registered at, then the visit (i.e. consultation) is free.

It is true that the cost of the medicines after discharge covered by the patient. But again, it will vary case by case.
