Subject: invitation to the UNSDCF Validation Workshop_18 Sep, 10.00

Sent on behalf of Dr. Sabine Machl, UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia:

Dear Counterparts, Colleagues and Friends,

I would like to thank you, once again, for your active participation and valuable contributions to the development of the 2021-2025 United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF). We very much appreciated your participation in the webinars that took place back in May and June 2020.

Now, it is my pleasure to invite you to the UNSDCF Validation Workshop that will take place online on Friday, 18 September, from 10.00-12.00 in the form of a webinar. This completes the development of our new five year strategic document which we would like to sign with the government very soon. The webinar agenda is attached.

The General Assembly resolution 72/279 elevates the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework as “the most important instrument for planning and implementation of the UN development activities at country level in support of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.” Given the ambition of the 2030 Agenda and the urgency of its timeline, the resolution represents a significant shift. The Cooperation Framework now guides the entire programme cycle, drives planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of collective UN support for achieving the 2030 Agenda. The Cooperation Framework determines and reflects the UN development system’s contributions in the country and shapes the configuration of UN assets required.

Please feel free to contact RCO Team Leader Marine Chitashvili [marine.chitashvili@un.org] should you have any questions or require additional information.

In order to join the webinar, kindly follow this link https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_vGUTGxibS1C_lQMyD37d5A and note the following:

The same instructions will be provided to the participants in the very beginning of the workshop.

I thank you in advance for your usual cooperation and look forward to seeing you at the workshop.

Sincerely,

Sabine Machl
