Good morning, hope you are all well. After speaking with dr. Kaki yesterday, just had a very good exchange with Ketevan Goginashvili, whom with your permission i had sent our powerpoints and matrix. Wish to thank her very much for her time and insights!
She gave constructive feedback and indicated that our proposal of following the next steps is good and positive. She indicated some of the known challenges in the PHC arena (notably its fragmentation), and of course the issues surrounding the current CoVID19 situation and forthcoming election challenges, but felt - like us - that now is the time to come up with constructive thinking and trying to address some of the fragmentation.
So she agreed with our suggestions for the next steps (and trying to finish most before the end of August):
a) Preparing and executing the policy brief before end of July, which will include update of background presentations plus a short presentation for dr. Tamar with highlights and policy choices including ‘convergence’ possibilities
b) Preparing the main questions for the technical workshop regarding ‘budget’ utilisation for RBF and organise this session with some of the technical people at the MOH, the PHC financial people and the NCDC financials
c) Preparing the quality indicator sets drafts to be used for validation in a technical workshop. Dr. Kaki can sit with whomever you wish to invite and i can attend by zoom, if physical travel remains impossible.
d) Merging this all into a ‘developmental plan’ for the government (what to do first, what next)
e) Preparing the HIV guidance materials on results-based operations for different target groups (practitioners, policy makers, at local and national level).
