Joseph,

Could I ask for some help in decoding the data file which I have now successfully loaded and transferred to Stata format for analysis.

First, just to note that the region and municipality codes are in Georgian script, but I can probably handle that. I will only use region, I think, and I can translate the eight codes I have for them.

What I am less clear about is (1) what each row represents and (2) what the last variable (‘Day_Delay’) represents.

Is a row a single person being admitted to hospital (so each row is a count of 1 admission)? And if so, is the date variable ‘PatientReleaseDate’ the date of his/her admission or discharge? (The name suggests it might be date of discharge but perhaps it means something different.)

And how do I use “Day_Delay” (if indeed I need to use it)? It takes a value from 1 (for 2,244,599 of the total of 3,059,722 records) up to a maximum value of 1,830.

Many thanks,

Paul

Dear Paul et al,

You should have received a link for the shared folder with the health database file. I have been able to open the file. Please confirm that you have been able to access the file.

Dear Nino,

Ah that is really great news! Thanks for the update!

On our end we also have someone looking at the recommendations for the CHVA so we hope that also will have moved forward before Christmas.

Best wishes all,

Stephen

Dear Joseph,

I hope all is well with you. Just checking if there are any updates on this? I didn’t see the letter go across so assume I was not cc’d?

Let me know if you would like me or Nino to follow up with the ministry so we can get this data to Paul before the Christmas break.

Best wishes,

Stephen
