As a follow up to this exchange, I have heard that foreign resources can be necessary in rehabilitation of the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Tbilisi, this among others. France is ready to consider this project with the support of the Concessional loan. I stay committed and mobilized .

Dear Tamar,

I hope this email finds you in good health.

France has reinforced its support to developing countries with a new financial tool , French treasury concessional loans. I would like to officially share with you this information and ask to convey this message to the Minister. You will find the conditions of the tool in the factsheet attached to my email and France is ready to accelerate the instruction process in the most smooth manner if the need is identified. It is not a tool to finance a crisis emergency response but a medium term strategic construction.

Should Georgia need our support, we will stand by its side. Please let me know if such a tool can respond to the situation in Georgia and you are willing to use it. In this perspective, in parallel I informally asked the Minister of Finances to analyze their will to use it.

This loan can be used to any project related with health : lab, construction and Equipement of modular / prefabricated hospitals, supply of equipment in existing public facilities, supply of ambulances etc.

I stand at your disposal should you identify a specific project.

Please be assured that in all situation, it will be a pleasure for our embassy team to support Georgian tremendous efforts in the fight against coronavirus with our tools, today and in the future.
