Call for proposals:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is announcing a grant project competition "Support for development cooperation in recipient countries selected by the Republic of Latvia". In this case, they are specific European Union Eastern Partnership countries – Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine – as well as the following countries in Central Asia – Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. In line with the “Communication on the Global EU response to COVID-19”, this competition is envisaged to address urgent issues raised by the COVID-19 crisis, including in the health sector, and to overcome socio-economic challenges related to COVID-19.

Dear EESPN member,

We hope this email finds you well and safe.

The EESPN team is launching two new initiatives and we are looking
forward to engaging you.

Initiative 1: EESPN newsletter

The EESPN editing team are starting a newsletter concerning the Bridge
Building region (Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of
Moldova, the Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and
Ukraine). The purpose of the newsletter is to inform our members about
the latest news in the region and distribute it via the EESPN membership
mailing list.

In this regard, we suggest the following headers for the newsletter
•       New legislation/policy measures
•       New projects
•       New publications
•       New active calls for application and participation

We would appreciate your contributions with news (last half a year) from
your individual countries on the above headers and would also like to
ask for a brief contribution of approximately 50 words in English
describing what it is and a LINK (if available).
The news should be about the main areas of EESPN, i.e.
•       Health
•       Care
•       Employment
•       Labour Mobility/Migration
•       Social policy
•       Social welfare
•       Any other related topic

Initiative 2: EESPN blog contribution

We are publishing a series of short articles in the format of blog
contributions (500 – 800 words) which will be published in the EESPN
front page and distributed via the mailing list.
We would like the series to have a common theme. So, for the first
round, and considering the circumstances created by COVID19, we welcome
your contributions on topics related to the pandemic. The text could
focus in one of the following main areas of EESPN and the measures taken
in your country, in terms of
•       Health
•       Care
•       Employment
•       Labour Mobility/Migration
•       Social policy
•       Social welfare
•       Any other related topic

We welcome any other suggestions you might have on both initiatives. The
deadline for contributions on both initiatives is 30 April 2020. Please
send them to Monika Hunjadi: hunjadi@euro.centre.org

Do not hesitate to contact us if you need further explanations or have
additional comments.
