Dear Nino,

This is an issue that connects to the announcement by the World Bank last Wednesday.  We hope that funding from that and existing Bank programs can indeed be used to support eligible countries. We’re working with the WB to explore how to operationalize the announcement.

We can set up an meeting/call with a Gavi expert in order to discuss in detail.

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Nino Kvernadze and I am writing on behalf of the WB’s Georgia Emergency COVID-19 Response Project, which operates under the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, since June, 2020.

As you know Georgia has recently signed COVAX Commitment Agreement,  and the Government of Georgia have requested the advance payment from  the  WB, through our Project. However the request is still pending due to some clarifications from the WB’s legal team.

As the advance payment date is approaching, we want be sure that the payment can be done through the Project without any constraints and we would like to ask you if other WB’s projects from different countries have financed/is planning to  finance the advance payment through the WB programs/loans? If yes, please share.

Would you require any additional information, or clarification, please ask.

Your prompt response would be very helpful and highly appreciated.
