Dear Silviu
Many thanks for this update. Glad to hear that the team has already made a good progress on PHC related tasks. The work plan aligns well with our expectations. I would be more than happy to join one of your virtual meeting. Lela Tsotsoria will take the lead from the ministry on this activity. Kety will remain engaged as usual.
Look forward to hearing more about hypertension and diabetes related initiatives.
With kind regards
Tamar

Subject: Revising and costing the PHC package
Dear Tamar,
This is just to update you on the progress regarding the revision and costing of PHC package.
We have the teams of local and external experts contracted and fully on board, with regular meetings on weekly basis, and with close involvement of WHO Barcelona and Almaty Offices.
The current focus is on revising the package, with emphasis on chronic conditions (diabetes, hypertension, asthma) plus marternal&child health and immunizations.
I attach for your information the preliminary agreed plan between all WHO staff and consultants involved – it can give you a clear idea about the on-going and planed work and the deadlines.
Could you please have a look and let me know whether you are fine with the plan and whether it is in line with your expectations, taking also into consideration the potential budgetary review in summer.
We would appreciate also having you personally or somebody from your team responsible for the PHC package revision, joining one of our next virtual meetings of the group of experts, so that we familiarize you with the work done so far and agree on priority further actions.
We got an additional proposal from Regional Office to include Georgia in a new initiative for strengthening specifically the management of diabetes and hypertension and PHC level.
This might be related to our on-going work on PHC package revision and costing, but I will write you about it in a separate email, so that we don’t mix them up.
Thank you and best regards,
Silviu
