The director of the Georgian Association of Social Workers is fluent in English. I copy Ketevan Gigineishvili, the executive director, to this email (ketevan.gigineishvili@gasw.org ). She can support to set a meeting with the GASW team in Adjara, however she will not be on the ground herself.

 

As for the meeting with the specialists, I think it is early to meet with them, if your objective is to get an understanding about the pilot. Please note, that April 8^th is the first day of their work and we expect the first month to be difficult. We all are fully mobilized to monitor the piloting process, to support the team, to see and analyze the flaws and to react as soon as possible in order to ensure that things are going well. It is much more meaningful to talk with the specialists in one month’s time when they are settled and can speak confidently about their experience, problems and achievements. I think we, collectively, need more time to understand the progress made in the frame of the Adjara pilot in order to ensure that when you enter Samtskhe Javakheti with the second pilot, you fully benefit from our experience.

 

Concerning the meeting venue on Friday, we are totally flexible.

Otherwise, could you please ask them, as you propose, to be available for a meeting and to organize a meeting with the teams of Functional Assessment Specialists and Case Managers ?

 

We are indeed linking with Nutsi Odisharia for other meetings, in particular with the Government of Adjara.

 

If Nutsi is available on the 19^th at 9:00am, then we can all agree on that time slot for a common meeting. Nutsi, would you be ?

As for the premises, could we agree on it later on ? As we will be requesting meetings at the ministry later on that morning, it may be more practical for our delegation and for Nutsi to meet already there, if possible.

However, I can communicate with the team of the Georgian Association of Social Workers and ask them to be on the ground available for a meeting with you. As for other meetings, and the organization of the meetings,  please consult with Ms. Nutsi Odisharia from the Ministry of Health. I copy her to this email.

 

On our side, UNICEF team will be available for the meeting on Friday, April 19^th, at 9am. I can propose a meeting on UNICEF premises (Address: R. Eristavi street. # 9; UN House, UNICEF, 4^th floor.). If acceptable, we will need to know the names of persons in order to ensure your entry passes.

As we plan to have meetings in Tbilisi at the end of the week, we will keep the visit in the region for the beginning of it. Thus, we would like to propose to hold the meeting with UNICEF and the Ministry on Friday the 19^th, at 9:00am. Would you be available on that slot ?

 

Concerning the meetings in Batumi, I thank you for your kind support. The need for an interpreter is duly noted and we are taking care of it.

Our day in Batumi is expected on Monday the 15^th, and due to our logistical planning, it would unfortunately seem difficult to postpone it to the Wednesday or Thursday and to match with the availability of Mrs. Tsertsvadze.

 

Thank you for coordination with the Georgian Association of Social Workers. Could you please let me know of the program expected for the meetings this day, when it is known ?

Our constraints are that we land in Batumi on Monday the 15^th, at 10:00 am and will need to leave the city around 4:30pm. Also, during this day in Batumi, we will probably request a meeting with the Government of Adjara – the persons involved in the pilot project. We are coordination with Nutsi Odisharia on that topic.

We are looking forward at meeting with the mission team. However we have certain time limitations due to the visit of UNICE Regional Director of Europe and Central Asia region which happens exactly during these days. We can suggest the following:

 

1. For meeting in Tbilisi, we can offer either Monday, April 15^th, second part of the day (still to be confirms from our side) or Friday, April 19^th any time till 3 pm.
2. As for the Batumi trip, our partner organization, Georgian Association of Social Workers, is on the ground. We will ask them to meet with you in Batumi and to  organize meetings with the teams of Functional Assessment Specialists and Case Managers if necessary. Please note, that you will need to have an interpreter for these meetings. From our side, Tinatin Tsertsvadze, our project coordinator, will able to join if the visit happens on Wednesday-Thursday (17-18 April).

As you know, AFD and Expertise France (EF) are preparing a mission in Georgia on April 15 – 19. The mission will, inter alia, aim to better defining the scope and initiate the TA to be implemented by EF on methodology for functional assessment of persons with disabilities.

 

During the mission, we would like to go to Batumi in order to meet with the UNICEF team there in charge of preparing and implementing the pilot project on that matter in Adjara.

The expected date for that visit is Monday the 15^th, morning and beginning of afternoon. We will be available starting 11:00am (our flight is expected to land at 10:00am).

 

We would like to request your help on organizing the meeting with the UNICEF team there.

Could I please ask you to kindly either put us in contact with your colleagues there or to directly organize a meeting with them ?

 

Also, would UNICEF persons from Tbilisi office join that meeting ?
