Dear Silviu

Dear Tamar,

Any decision on the second initiative  regarding diabetes and CVD at PHC level?

Sorry for being insistent - the timeframe is very tight (end of June-beginning of July) and I have to inform Regional Office whether we go for it or not.

Thank you!

Silviu

Dear Tamar,

This is about the second initiative I mentioned to you – basically the suggestion is to pilot a WHO tool that relies on routine clinical data to assess essential NCD-related services at PHC level, specifically for the management of diabetes and hypertension.

Our Regional Office is ready to offer training to local personnel engaged (around 3-4 people), who will after that collect anonymized data from the patient’s records in line with the tool, and log them in standardized forms.

Data will then be analyzed together with Regional Office and a report will produce.

The suggestion is to do the piloting in the PHC Training Centre and finalize it by the end of June-beginning of July.

In case the initiative and the tool is going to be found useful, we could potentially scale it up and eventually institutionalize.

Ultimately, this exercise could also inform the decisions on specific performance indicators for PHC.

Let me know, please, if this is of interest to the ministry and if you agree with the suggested arrangements, so that we can initiate all the formal procedures.

We would be happy also to go for alternative options, if any.

Thank you and best regards,

Silviu
