The UNECE internal evaluation policy requires to undertake periodic evaluations of all its subprogrammes. This year it includes an evaluation of the Population Unit activities on advancing intergovernmental work towards the implementation of the 2017 Lisbon Ministerial Declaration and MIPAA/RIS commitments. The evaluation is being carried out by an independent evaluator – Ms. Tatjana Shikovska - and covers our activities over the period September 2016 – September 2020.

The evaluation is based on a desk review of all relevant reports and documents related to the WGA as well as on the information gathered through an on-line questionnaire with WGA members, NGO representatives and other major stakeholders. The evaluator will also hold some on-line interviews with the current and previous Bureau members and selected long-standing WGA members and partners.

With this e-mail I would like to introduce to you Ms. Tatjana Shikovska,  the consultant evaluator, who will shortly send to you an on-line questionnaire and start arranging for the interviews with some of you.

We at the Population Unit would appreciate very much your cooperation with Ms Shikovska and active participation in the on-line survey.  Your feedback will be invaluable in helping us identify ways in which we can further improve our collaboration and enhance the relevance of regional cooperation to your work.
