Dear Eka and Tinatin, As I already spoke with Eka over the phone, the Office of Defense Cooperation of the US Embassy in Tbilisi is ready to provide assistance to MoH in support of COVID-19 efforts by handing over Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) through $15,000 Humanitarian Assistance project funded by the US Department of Defense. With this project, we will be able to purchase PPE from local vendors and hand it over to MoH. In order for us to formally initiate the process, we need a letter of request from MoH stating the need for an assistance and listing the necessary PPE in required quantities. For your reference, I am attaching a 2018 letter of request from MoH for the HA project supporting Hepatitis C elimination program. I do realize the pressure put on MoH in this challenging times, but I ask you to provide us the new letter of request for PPE in response to COVID-19 at your earliest convenience to enable the timely execution of the project. Respectfully, Tamar Tamar Rurua Humanitarian Assistance Program Manager Office of Defense Cooperation, Bilateral Affairs Office US Embassy Tbilisi, Georgia Office: +995 322 91 14 73 (ext. 100) Cell: +995 595 42 61 63; +995 557 26 75 05
