Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the WHO Secretariat, and in regard to the topic “Health Information Assessment Support Tool” that will be presented at the upcoming EHII Steering Group meeting, please find attached for your
kind review and comments the draft 1 of the newly proposed tool
that will be used to facilitate the discussion of this session.
Structure of the session “Health Information Assessment Support Tool”
- The session will start with a 10-minute presentation from Dr. Nicole Rosenkötter on the status quo of the tool, followed by a plenary discussion and definition
of next steps.
What has been done so far?
Step 1: Review of the ASSESSMENT ITEMS (see
columns A-C in each tab):
- These were collected from a range of existing tools, mainly from the above-mentioned Support Tool. The assessment items have
been divided into six health information system components (resources, indicators, data sources, data management, information products, and dissemination and use), which can be found in the individual
working sheet tabs of the attached Excel file.
- For further information on the resources/tools included in
this review, please see the references and color coding scheme explained below in the sheet tab ‘Intro’ of the Excel file.
Step 2: Preparation of GENERAL QUESTIONS (see
columns E-J in each tab):
- The
assessment items were merged into general questions. These general questions are to assess whether the assessment item is met. These questions
are structured, as you will see in the attached file, by topic, specific probing questions, expectations and comments.
Action requested:
- Please review the excel file and respond to these three questions:
- Is there any assessment item (columns A-C) that you consider is missing?
- Do you have any general questions (columns E-J) that you would like to add/modify?
- Do you have any additional comment that you would like to share with us in order to improve this tool?
Please consider that this work is in progress and your feedback is greatly appreciated in order to complete this task.
In case you have any question or comments, do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,
David
