When a young woman arrived at a Dhaka health facility with deadly post-partum haemorrhage, staff did not have time to assess whether she might have COVID-19.

Wearing protective gear, midwive Majufa Akter and the attending physician rushed to get the bleeding under control. “This time is very dangerous, so all of us should be very careful,” Majufa said.

With more than 100 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bangladesh, the Government and UNFPA are accelerating the pandemic response. And they are working to make sure mothers and babies do not fall through the cracks.
