Subject: invitation to the UNSDCF webinars
Sent on behalf of Dr. Sabine Machl, UN Resident Coordinator:
Dear Colleagues and Counterparts,
The UN Country Team in Georgia is in the process of developing the new United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for 2021-2026. This will outline programmatic priority areas of the UN family in support of implementation of the 2030 agenda, with the UN Sustainable Development Goals at the center. We are looking forward to finalizing this process in the coming two months before signing the document with the Prime Minister of Georgia.
Like the current United Nations Partnership for Sustainable Development (UNPSD) 2016-2020, the new Cooperation Framework will echo and support the national priorities of Georgia and are elaborated in close cooperation with all key stakeholders: Government, international organizations and donors, including international financial institutions, civil society organizations, academia, the private sector, and other partners. The ultimate goal of our support is to ‘Leave No One Behind’ in Georgia.
The UN in Georgia has developed a concept of the UNSDCF 2021-2026 with one overarching priority, “Enhancing Human Wellbeing, Capabilities and Social Equality”. To contribute to this, we anticipate the need for five ‘outcomes’, as well as outputs relevant to each of these outcomes. An outline of this ‘theory of change’ is in the annex.
To ensure coordination and alignment with the Georgia’s development priorities, the UN System is launching a series of consultations with all key partners. The five webinars will focus on one of the five priority outcomes that we are proposing will guide the UN’s support to Georgia in the coming five years. We hope that through a wide discussion and feedback to our thinking we shall be able to consolidate views and develop a highly relevant and nationally owned UNSDCF 2021-2026. The webinars will take place every Wednesday, 15.00-17.00 starting from May 27 via Zoom platform. Dedicated Zoom links will be provided to the relevant outcome group members ahead of each meeting.
Topics for discussion:
The webinar format and agenda is as follows:
We look forward to your participation, comments and views on the proposed priorities for the new UNSDCF and attach the following documents for your interest: Theory of Change, Final Evaluation of the 2016-2020 UNPSD and a diagram with UNSDCF outcomes and outputs.
Thank you,
Sabine Machl
