Dear Tamar,

This is a follow-up on Behavior Insights study on COVID19 in Georgia.

The presentation of the first three waves of the study went particularly well and many partners manifested vivid interest in the study and its results.

I was contacted by the EU Delegation here and they are extremely interested in making this work more visible.

For instance, they would suggest to develop a joint press statement on the first three waves and major finding, and also to place that statement on MoH and EU Delegation websites, FB accounts, etc.

Similar vivid interest was manifested from the part of the UK Embassy.

We agreed previously that we circulate among major stakeholders but do not make it fully public at this stage.

I explained all of them that the study is not finalized yet (we plan altogether 6 waves), but I also said we’ll have additional consultations with the ministry and decide how to address this better.

Please, let me know what you think.

Can we make it more public? If not, I will keep to the position that we make it public when fully finalized.

Otherwise, we are ready to work on a joint press statement and share it with you and other partners.

If we go for it, then the press-statement could be released the week of 29 June.

I attach the final versions of the report and presentations, with all the logos on it, agreed with external partners.

Looking forward to your answer,

With best regards,

Silviu

Dear Silviu

Many thanks for your follow up on this. We’ve prepared a short presentation and circulated it to the public relations units and the Governmental Committee for COVID19 management. I did not hear any specific comments on needed changes. Would be good to have a brief meeting on data ownership and next steps. I’ll ask Katy Goginashvili to coordinate.

With kind regards

Tamar

Dear Tamar,

Sorry for disturbing with this also…

We have to plan for the next waves of the survey and if any suggestions for changes or data ownership, etc. it would be good to agree now.

Also, important to agree with whom we share the findings.

Our specialists in risk communication and the local agency could also make a short presentation of the data analyzed so far, preferably by the end of this week.

Not mandatory, but if you think there are a couple of key people to listen to that, we could organize.

Thank you and best regards,

Silviu

Dear Tamar,

Please find attached  the Behavior Insights study results (standard statistical analysis and findings) on COVID19 in Georgia, first wave, conducted with WHO and UNICEF support.

Altogether, we plan 6 waves, with a 2-weeks interval between them

And below is multifactorial analysis. The Georgian version of the study is updated. The English version also contains all major findings and will be fully updated next week.

Now, as the survey is in place and on-going, it is crucial to decide on a plan for sharing the results and recommendations with all key stakeholders involved in the COVID-19 response, especially with those involved in risk communication activities.

We would be happy if the ministry decides on this and undertakes full ownership of the data and the final reports.

If you agree, then please provide us the contacts of a Focal point in the ministry, with whom we could be in contact on daily basis and with whom we share regularly all the collected data and reports.

If you have any alternative suggestions regarding the ownership and dissemination, we are happy to discuss  them.

Thank you and best regards,

Silviu

Dear Tamar,

I told you about this tool a while ago…

We are already applying in here, together with UNICEF. The first round of data collection was conducted and we are currently analyzing them.

As soon as we have the analysis ready, we’ll share with you.

5 more rounds are planned in the coming months.

With best regards,

Silviu
