Since the last edition, the COVID-19 virus has swept through Europe causing great loss and severely disrupting European health and care services and general everyday life as we know it. It has also had a
particularly strong impact on the segment of the population that we, as a community, strive to assist and protect, older adults. We would like to thank all of the professionals across Europe and the world who are helping to fight this virus.

Europe fights back against COVID-19
Europe and the world are currently facing the huge challenge of fighting the spread of COVID-19. Many of the organisations involved in the EIP on AHA are in the frontline of the war against this
virus. The aim of the spotlight this month is to showcase some of the different ongoing initiatives that have been launched or have re-focused their efforts in response to the pandemic.

Due to the ongoing impact COVID-19, the deadline for the EIP on AHA 2020 Twinning programme has been extended. Jointly promoted together with the DigtialHealthEurope project, the twinning scheme
aims to reduce any risks related to investing in innovative digital ICT solutions by financing the exchange of knowledge/partial adoption or full adoption of digital health solutions.

Federico II University Hospital, on behalf of Campania Reference Site, submitted a proposal to the 2019 WE4AHA Call for Twinnings, for the implementation of knowledge sharing activities with the
Center for Gastrology of Leuven (Belgium), aimed at transferring their gastrological approach to malnutrition. A scale-up strategy has been developed to guarantee the adoption and sustainability of the solution in the Campania region.

In 2019, University College Cork (Ireland) were one of five applicants to be awarded the WE4AHA Call for Twinning grant to transfer knowledge of digitally enabled innovative solutions for health
care to other European partners. Partnering with other European organisations, they shared knowledge on a screening instrument for mild cognitive impairment (Quick Mild Cognitive Impairment Screening Tool).

Cáritas Coimbra hosted, on 11-12th March, the Hands-on SHAFE consortium meeting, a project that aims to promote social inclusion and encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in communities. Hands-on
