There are some questions concerning DRG grouping results:
Retrospective analysis has shown, that providers in cases of radiotherapy indicate exact diagnosis code and even in cases where NCSP codes are indicated correctly, DRG name is not Radiotherapy. To group case in radiotherapy DRG group, it's necessary to indicate ICD-10 code Z51.0, otherwise grouping results are different, isn't it?
Are intraoperational radiotherapy (LIAC), brachytherapy, radiotherapy using linear accelerator and other kind radiotherapy except stereotactic radiotherapy grouped in one group?
Chemotherapy group is grouped when ICD 10 is Z51.1, despite of NCSP, isn't it? There are only 3 DRG groups of chemotherapy under MDC Myeloproliferative diseases and disorders, poorly differentiated neoplasms. in which group is mean chemotherapy of non-myeloproliferative diseases, for example chemotherapy at breast cancer?
We think, it's necessary to revise DRG group 042X (Intraocular procedures except retina iris & lens) - this group consists of NCSP codes of intraocular operations on vitreous body and retina.
We are going on detecting problematic issues based on retrospective analysis of SSA data, which, we hope, will be considered at the next mission.
