With reference to our previous discussion on future opportunities for health system strengthening in Georgia, please find attached a concept note for EU funded action in health in Georgia.
On the basis of the assessment of the current situation in health in Georgia as well as the public policy analysis, in addition to considering the policy framework in the European Union, I have identified the priority areas for support and proposed an action
accordingly.
You may please also refer to my presentation given in the first meeting of the UHC Board in December 2019. Then I already summarized the key issues and the main areas to address in the National Health Strategy in accordance with previous discussions with you
and the leadership of the Ministry of Health. Therefore, the present concept was intended to be aligned with the priorities defined by the Ministry, too.
The overall objective, specific objectives, expected outputs and indicative activities of the action, as introduced in the intervention logic, reflect the results of the above mentioned analysis as well as the position of the Ministry of Health. I also recommended
on the implementation modality and suggested to consider WHO as a key implementing as well as coordinating partner.
