The International Monetary Fund (IMF), the European Commission (EC) and the Switzerland State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) held Annual Coordination and Steering Committee Meeting to discuss the EU and SECO financed capacity development program Revenue Administration and Public Financial Management Reform in Southeast Europe implemented by the IMF in six Western Balkan countries. Overview of Structural Reforms in the EU Pre-accessionCountries
We spoke with high-level representatives of line ministries from Western Balkan countries and Turkey that take part in the EU-funded project Fiscal Implications of Structural Reforms (FISR)about current priority reforms in their sectors. The implementation of structural reforms often faces challenges in the prioritization of effective reforms, calculation of costs and securing budget for implementation.
