As social security institutions have adapted and responded to the needs of their members during the coronavirus crisis, so has the ISSA. As a result, we have been able to accelerate our strategy to diversify our services and also increase the impact of ISSA’s knowledge on the staff of our member institutions.
One pillar of this development has been the ISSA webinar programme. I am very pleased that since the first webinar in April 2020, more than 4,000 representatives of ISSA member institutions registered for the 32 webinars that we have organized. Many more have also watched the recordings of the webinars at the time of their choice, as all are available on the ISSA website.
We have also transformed our Academy diploma programme into e-learning courses, and our ten courses to date have been met with much interest. The launch of a new series of e- workshops to support collaborative problem solving by social security institutions will be another highlight foreseen for November, followed by our first virtual Regional Social Security Summit for the Americas in December.
It is also positive to see that through our virtual activities, we have been able to reach many more staff of our member institutions. Over 1,000 new MyISSA accounts have been created during the last five months for member institution staff. We expect that this active ISSA community will continue to grow through our new MyISSA web environment that will soon allow for enhanced networking, group spaces and community exchanges.
Finally, I am proud to inform you that the ISSA membership has for the first time in the ISSA history reached over 160 countries. I sincerely hope that our new services will further contribute to delivering a high value for all our member institutions in 161 countries.
