A 34-year-old woman presents to the emergency department with a 1 week history of fatigue, malaise, lethargy and jaundice. Her initial examination shows she is disoriented and has asterixis in keeping with suspected hepatic encephalopathy. The lab tests show an AST of 15,070 IU/L, ALT 22,000 IU/L, INR 5.4, Bilirubin of 23 mg/dL (393 micromol/L).

Call for nominations for two new members of the EASL Young Investigators task force 

EASL is now calling for nominations for two new members for the Young Investigators task force. The term for these members is from September 2020 to April 2023.

The call  is open from 1 July to 15 September 2020. An updated CV and a letter of motivation for joining the task force should be submitted.

Apply for the Andrew K. Burroughs Fellowship

Would you like to be the next EASL fellowship awardee? Send us your application for the Andrew K. Burroughs short-term fellowship and tell us about your research project.

The Andrew K. Burroughs short-term fellowship programme is directed at postgraduate investigators (both basic and clinical investigators) who intend to spend a limited amount of time (usually 3-6 months) at a foreign institution. The aim is to to accomplish a very focused research project, to learn an experimental procedure or methodology or to get in-depth knowledge about a sophisticated, clinical diagnostic procedure not available at the home institution.

Amount awarded for this short-term training fellowship
3,000 EUR per month will be provided. Neither travel support, nor bench fee reimbursement will be included.
