Dear Dr. Averhoff,

We very much regret to hear that you left the CDC Division of Viral Hepatitis. You are well aware of our very special respect to you. You were a leading architect of Georgia’s hepatitis C elimination program and your personal contribution in the initiation and implementation of the program has been tremendous. Let me assure you that without your leadership this program would not be as successful as it is at present.

We are very privileged to know you. It has been a great honor and pleasure to collaborate with you.

We are sure that your contribution will be significant in supporting COVID 19 response and we wish you all the success in your new challenging position.

We hope to have opportunities to meet you in the near future.

Thank you once again for your valuable support to Georgia’s hepatitis C elimination program and to the health of Georgian people.

Sincerely,

Tengiz Tsertsvadze

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I wanted to advise you that I have left the CDC Division of Viral Hepatitis as of 1 August 2020.  You have all done an amazing job with HCV Elimination, it has been my honor and privilege to work with you all.  The support from CDC will continue, of course, with the Atlanta and Georgia based teams, I look forward to the final success!  I am staying and supporting the CDC COVID-19 response, which has been a huge challenge, and we again need to learn lessons from Georgia, just as we have for HCV Elimination.

My email address remains.  Thank you again for the privilege of working with you all and the opportunity to get to know you as friends and visit your beautiful and lovely country.

Best regards, FA
