Biography:

Evan M. Bloch, MD, MS is an Associate Professor of Pathology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where he serves as Associate Director in the Division of Transfusion Medicine. He has a joint appointment in International Health in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Bloch has a longstanding interest in global blood transfusion safety, particularly in the context of infectious risk and how to respond to emerging (e.g. Zika, SARS-CoV-2) and neglected transfusion transmissible infections (e.g. babesiosis, malaria).
