At this moment we would like to discuss the following questions:

 

1. Which is the most preferred option for countries with their pros and cons?

2. In each case:

- Can we terminate the contract due to circumstances, for example, if a high price is offered, while at the moment there is a lower price in the market or the situation is such that there is no need for a vaccine? What is the risk for the country?

- Can we choose the vaccine we prefer?

3. Is it possible to apply for less than 10% of population. How we can justify?

Will Thursday (Sept 10th) 09:30 Copenhagen time work for both of you? If yes, please provide email addresses of the participants (MoH, MoF and WB) so that we can send webex invitation to them. I guess 90 min call will be more than enough to cover below issues. I would like to limit the call to ARM and GEO at this stage.

 

It will be good to start with updates from ARM and GEO on access to COVID-19 vaccines (response sent to COVAX facility and any contacts/arrangements with manufacturers, if any) and intended size of vaccination intervention (elected or to be elected target population). Then we can go through the two purchase modalities and discuss their implications within each country context. Finally we can list issues that need to be consulted with the COVAX Facility colleagues, so that you can make an informed decision prior to the deadline (Sept 18th).

 

Please let me know if you agree with the proposed agenda or if you have any agenda topic suggestions.

 

It should be noted that, as WHO, we may not be able to answer some of the questions you may have. Purpose of the call is to facilitate in-country decision-making process through our joint reading of procedures and identifying issues that need to be consulted with the COVAX Facility colleagues.

Hope you are well. As you know countries, including Armenia,  were requested to sign an agreement for Covid 19 vaccine to be procured within the COVAX FACILITY. To be honest, we are not sure which option is preferable for Armenia. 

 

There are some uncertainties around the both options. I am kindly asking to you to clarify this. To my understanding, Georgia  has already refereed to you. What about the joint conference call?
