Dear Marine,
Per our conversation, this is
regarding hosting a national assessment of COVID-19 guidelines in Georgia. This is an activity we are aiming to complete across all euro countries and as such we have hired consultants to assist with this activity remotely.
The assessment involves a two day (4 hours each) gathering of key national partners to assess how existing guidance is suitable given the current covid-19 response. The activity is usually an
in-person exercise for the participants (social distancing and epi curve permitting) and aims for the national partners themselves to assess their own response. Usually this is aimed at just 6-8 key participants we may
potentially schedule for May 2021.
We will have to see with the epi-curve at the time but at least
we can preliminarily book the consultants, so Georgia doesn't miss out. For this the assessment will focus specifically on IPC related guidance than the other pillars. The consultant usually conducts the assessment via zoom
on a teleconference screen or equivalent with a WHO staff member present. Such assessment was conducted in this manner in many countries and it has worked out quite well as it allows us to be a bit more flexible with the dates etc. within the week we choose
and makes it easier for you on the ground especially with current travel issues etc.
I am attaching the XX country draft report for you to see the end result reports which the consultants provide:) Some countries have chosen to then combine parts of it with the national facility
visits which I am aware you are conducting right now, so this may be an option for you also.
Please advise if you agree to host the assessment and provide PoCs for this activity.
Many thanks,
Tamuna
