1. What are the rules to be applied for UN personnel if suspected for COVID-19? Will the local/general rules be applied or there are additional/different procedures/protocols?: Given that the COVID19 is considered as the public health emergency, general rules apply to all individuals regardless their nationality and residency status.

2. Under which condition will the UN Personnel be in a position to get tested and where/how?- Testing service is provided at all hospitals including designated Fever and COVID 19 clinics as per governmental resolution #253 April 2020. All individuals considered as COVID 19 suspect (per national protocol), with fever or pneumonia are eligible for testing. Tests should be ordered by hospital doctors. Orders can be placed twice per day and samples delivered to designated laboratories (both public and private).  

3. What is the current role of General Practitioners/family doctors in COVID-19 response/case management?- GPs activities are guided by the MoLHSA approved national protocol. In brief, General practitioners are delivering online consultations to individuals with respiratory complaints who approach 112. The functions include initial triage, follow up phone monitoring if the patient with mild respiratory symptoms stay at home, protocol is currently being developed on home based management of COVID 19 cases by general practitioners.  

4. What are the conditions to get access to hospital care? – Currently 100% of COVID 19 cases (517 confirmed as of April 29^th 2020) are treated at hospital. In addition to confirmed cases there are around 150-200 individuals at a time for triage and testing.

5. How many beds in ICU level 3 are available in the hospitals at country level?- Please find below

We would recommend

University #1 Hospital (Levan Ratiani) in Tbilisi

Military Hospital in Gori (David Barliani)

Bochorishvili Hospital in Tbilisi ( David Gadelia)

In Kutaisi L&G Company

Please note that clinical supervision and guidance is provided by the Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital (Professor Tengiz Tsertsvadze) to all clinics.

Dear Tamar,

 

I have a request related to our internal UN arrangements that we cannot fulfill without your support.

 

Within the UN system we have to nominate MEDEVAC coordinators who will deal with evacuation of UN personnel in case of need.

And in order to complete tasks assigned as part of the MEDEVAC preparedness phase the coordinators have to answer the following questions:

 

1. What are the rules to be applied for UN personnel if suspected for COVID-19? Will the local/general rules be applied or there are additional/different procedures/protocols?

2. Under which condition will the UN Personnel be in a position to get tested and where/how?

3. What is the current role of General Practitioners/family doctors in COVID-19 response/case management?

4. What are the conditions to get access to hospital care?

5. How many beds in ICU level 3 are available in the hospitals at country level?
