Air-transportation price - $5.45/kg FCA CGO/ZHENGZHOU-TBS

The total amount of air-transportation - $152,175.00 (only goods for Georgia)

Covers CGO/ZHENGZHOU airport handling costs

Does not include Tbilisi airport terminal costs

Transit terms: 5-7 days after arrival of goods into the airport terminal

In case of necessity, they could provide internal land transportation from Guangzhou to Zhengzhou (average costs 6000 USD (2 trailers))

Option 2 - Air Astana

Air-transportation price - $228,000.00 FCA CAN/GUANGZHOU-TBS CHARTER FLT/B767 TYPE A/C. MAX GROSS LOAD 38TN/220CBM

Could deliver goods for Georgia and Armenia

Total 158 pallets/18335kg/202m3

Covers CAN/GUANGZHOU airport handling costs

Does not include Tbilisi airport terminal costs

Transit period: 2-3 days after arrival of goods into the airport terminal

Option 3 – San Marino Executive Aviation SMF

Air-transportation price - $187,000.00 FCA CAN/GUANGZHOU-TBS CHARTER FLT/A300-600F TYPE A/C. MAX GROSS LOAD 45TN/400CBM

Could deliver goods for Georgia and Armenia

Total 158 pallets/18335kg/202m3

Covers CAN/GUANGZHOU airport handling costs

Does not include Tbilisi airport terminal costs

Transit period: 2-3 days after arrival of goods into the airport terminal

Note: carrying out this charter flight depends on accumulation of additional goods (also PPE), which could be confirmed in these days.

In case of requesting the charter flight we need to address to the MFA/Embassy of Georgia in China in order to obtain permission for flight.

I am also attaching communication with Giorgi Zumbadze who offered these options. If you need further details you can contact him or we will assist upon your request.

Dear Silviu,

Hope you are doing well.

Upon your request we got in touch with ,,Geo Sky" Airline. They could arrange charter flight Tbilisi-Guangzhou-Tbilisi and deliver goods for Armenia as well.

The cost of the Charter flight is 280 000 USD.

Beside, we are waiting the price of another option from Georgian representative of Silk Way West Airlines LTD. As soon as I get details let you know.

Dear Tamar,

As a follow-up on the cargo with PPEs under the EU project for Eastern Partnership countries, I would like to inform you that all the supplies are ready for transportation in China (Guangzhou).

The main cause of delay in their delivery is the lack of aircrafts to bring the supplies from China to Eastern Partnership countries and our Regional Office is looking now for quick solutions.

In this regard, I would like to check with you quickly about the eventual interest of Georgia to airlift the supplies from China, first of all to Georgia, but possibly also to Armenia and Moldova…

In case this is of interest, we can discuss the details of covering the costs.

I perfectly understand this decision is not with you, but maybe you can explore and let me know if it would be worth discussing it at higher levels.

It might be a bold affirmation of Georgia in its foreign policy and also within Eastern Partnership.

We can always talk on phone, if needed.

Dear Tamar,

This is just to let you know in advance that we expect a quite significant cargo with PPEs under the EU project for Eastern Partnership countries in the coming weeks.

Namely, the week of 15 June we expect:

1,081,000 surgical masks

30,000 gowns

316,000 gloves for examination

13,200 goggles

5,000 face shields.

And the week of 29 June we expect:

328,000 N95 respirators

I hope nothing will change under the current circumstances and we get everything we expect and during the mentioned weeks.

But I would still not spread this information too much, until we know exactly the time of cargo’s arrival.

I just thought the information might be useful, as you are starting now big procurements with WB money.

No concerns about duplications, as PPEs are needed in big quantities, but it might take longer until you get the supplies under WB procurement and our supplies could arrive earlier, so you can plan better their distribution.

I will get back to you on this closer to the event, to see how we ensure visibility for the EU.
