Dear Colleagues
,
In accordance to our discussion we send you information regarding 15-19 July mission on Oncological Services to be led by
We would like to ask you advise about
Professionals to be
invited for Round table to make presentation and preferable facilities to visit.
Objectives of the mission is to explore overall cancer control issues focusing on early diagnosis/screening, but also touch upon cancer registration, for
which additionally IARC mission will be planned for autumn .
As requested by our experts they would like to have :
Roundtable (starting from the
morning on Tuesday) with participation of key colleagues from
Ministry, NCDC, screening registry and cancer registry, representative from screening centers including trainers, representative of the national institute of oncology, representative of all the places
to visit, professionals
who participated in drafting the NCD strategy (for its cancer and palliative care parts), representative of UNFPA.
We will
ask these people to make short presentations about their activities, focusing on the
difficulties they have, to shape it in a way that helps possibly to keep
focus on public health issues and less clinical ppt and questions
Time trend in incidence and mortality for breast, cervix, colorectal, prostate and thyroid cancer would be very useful, the best are “population based” incidence and mortality (i.e. per 100,000 inhabitants, not
just % of cases) so this is something to ask to the cancer registry.
Visits (16-18 July:
Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday, Thursday)
Need to visit,
Also talk to people who do cervix colposcopies and LEEP (or cryotherapy or LLETZ or cold knife conization, whatever technique is used in GEO)
Debriefing (
Friday morning early enough to catch planes)
Please kindly share your opinion and advise when we
can discuss details additionally
We will also discuss these issues with NCDC colleagues, working on NCD, Prevention and Cancer Registry issues
Thank you for your collaboration
On behalf of Silviu Domente
