Subject: what France offers to Georgia for an Emergency response and long terme cooperation
Dear Tamar,
Few weeks ago, I wrote to you describing the support which Georgia can rely on from France in its response against coronavirus. This direct response is a multiple layer support :
- The newly proposed emergency support for equipment purchase to fight COVID-19 : the Treasury concessional loans under conditions described in the factsheet attached can be requested for this short term response. You will find attached the list of France produced equipment for emergency response. I am staying at your disposal for any question you may rise in your decisive process.
- Treasury loans which conditions are very favorable for Georgia (see attached factsheet) and we stand ready to take into consideration a project that you would like to realize with our partnership : the projects bellow might be of our mutual interests:
i) New Tbilisi hospital – we would like to co-finance with another donor;
ii) Infectious Disease Hospital in Tbilisi: Refurbishment. If a global project is intended including equipment and soft technology, France is interested. I would like you to consider our Treasury concessional loans in this regards.
iii) Health funding to Georgia to help prepare laboratory systems, activate case-finding and event-based surveillance, support technical experts for response and preparedness, bolster risk communication (USAID). I was wondering if the latter would result with a larger investment project.
- The budget support program implemented by AFD which have been discussed during the credit commission yesterday;
Please consider this French offer in the coordination process with donors organizations.
