Hi Ben

I do not think there will be any issue with this. At this stage this is purely for formalities – we need to have an estimated price established for having drugs cleared by the customs office. However, in general we should be ready to address questions about generics. We are having the committee meeting tomorrow to discuss how to communicate this change to treatment providers to avoid any anxiety.

With kind regards

Tamar

Hi Tamar,

As you can imagine, the generic price will be a lot lower than the US commercial price.  Will this cause you any issues?  If the price is too low, will it make it seem like an inferior product?

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Drug cost estimation

Hi Ben

Since the hep C program will be switching to the new drugs to be imported we should have an estimated price established by the local state entity. This is also part of a customs clearance procedure.  I thought we may be able to share some sources/references which would indicate the drug costs in some other countries?

Many thanks!
