Many thanks for providing this outline. All activities are of high priority for the ministry and we would be happy to work with you on more specific planning. Initial training for primary care providers is currently being undertaken by the National Family Medicine Training Center with the Global Fund support. This training has not been extended to village providers, Therefore, it is really important if you could start from the village doctors’ groups. For rural FM teams we can discuss how best to organize follow up capacity building interventions for FPs already receiving initial training. A designated ministerial staff member (Dr Lela Tsotsoria) will work with Rusudan and other team members to agree on training modalities and schedule.
Training in lab and sample preparation at local fever clinics is indeed very urgent. NCDC will follow up on this in coordination with the ministry.
