Tamar Gabunia is a medical doctor with Master’s in Public Health from the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, United States. She has extensive experience in leading and supporting public health initiatives across a wide range of health issues. In her capacity as a technical team leader she worked for USAID supported programs in the Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Ukraine and other countries. Areas of her technical expertise include Tuberculosis, Primary Care and Health Systems Strengthening. Since February 2019 Dr Gabunia is First Deputy Minister at the Ministry for IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs.
